The YMCA has established a day-long kindergarten summer day camp for five and six year old who have completed kindergarten or who will be entering kindergarten in the fall of 2010. It is an age appropriate themed day long learning center based day camp bridging the gap between the half-day pre-school summer camp and the day-long Camp Chesapeake Day Camp. This 10-week program runs from June 21 to August 27th (you may register on a weekly basis), with two sessions available daily. A minimum enrollment must be met for each session. This course is designed to teach the beginning motorcycle rider basic riding skills and strategies necessary for an individualt o being to practice street riding. This course is apporved by the MD Motor Vehicle Administration for the CLass "M" Licensing waiver. Topics include responsible riding, basic riding skills, selecting proper riding gear, defensive drivign techniques and how to handle a variety of riding situations. Riders are to provide their own riding gear, which includes a DOT certified hlemt, eye protection, jacket, full-fingered gloves, long pants, and sturdy over-the-ankle shoes or boots. 3 sessions, 17 hours, $315.

The Boys & Girls Club of Cecil County Summer Fun Club runs for eight weeks, June 28t o August 20, 9 hours per day from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Become a "super science sleuth" - learn about forensics, crime scene investigation, and crime lab chemistry as you perform experiments designed tos how you just how those tricky cases are solved. Search for evidence, gather clues, and discover how science can help solve a mystery. Dust for and classify fingerprints; analyze handwriting; and test for blood type and DNA using "simulated blood." Make a candy DNA model and use "Glow Blood," to see what humans can't see. Examine hair and clothing fibers, practice chemistry to identify mystery substances and much more.
